Eastern European Bond Mandates invest in bonds issued in Central and Eastern European countries which are set to benefit from accession to the European Monetary Union and the
concomitant convergence of Eastern European interest rates with EU rates.
We invest only in bonds which are denominated in local currencies so that investors can diversify their currency and interest rate exposure.
In order to reduce the credit risk, the assets are invested primarily in government bonds issued in the currency of the country in question. In addition, we also buy eurobonds
which are issued by first-class Western borrowers in Eastern European currencies.
