Institutional Investor's All-Europe Research Team Survey 2008:
Vontobel named best research team for Swiss equities
|
 |
The Vontobel Group's brokerage team was voted the best broker for Swiss equities in the independent survey conducted by the US magazine Institutional Investor. In particular,
Vontobel's extensive expertise in the area of financial analysis and its international sales activities won considerable recognition among investors.
The renowned US financial publication Institutional Investor has identified the best research teams in Europe in its annual survey, which involved around 550 financial
institutions in the UK, Continental Europe, North America and Asia − representing the global universe of institutional investors. The findings published in the
All-Europe Research Team Survey 2008 reflect the opinions of more than 1,600 investment specialists in 45 categories. The Institutional Investor poll is therefore widely regarded
as the leading independent industry survey.
"The title of 'best research team' reflects the quality of our financial analyses. Our objective opinions and research, as well as the personal service we offer, are recognized
and valued by our clients. This award shows that there is also an international demand for our services relating to Swiss equities". Vontobel's research team comprises 26 equity
analysts and 2 credit analysts who cover all the main sectors of the Swiss equity market, such as pharmaceuticals/healthcare, banks, insurers, consumer goods, chemicals, industry
and cyclical stocks, as well as a large number of small and medium-sized companies. The team produces analyses relating to a universe of approximately 170 companies, while taking
account of relevant trends in international peer groups and specific industry topics. "We have a good reputation among institutional investors and, with our strong research team,
are the opinion leader in the Swiss equity market," stated Roger Studer, Head of Investment Banking.
