Deputy Portfolio Manager/ Credit Analyst for European Mid Yield Bonds and funds

Within the Fixed Income team in Zurich we are looking to hire a mid-level experienced deputy portfolio manager/ corporate credit analyst to work with our lead portfolio manager for the Vontobel Euro Corporate Mid Yield Bond fund.

Your Challenge

  • Help with the management of our Flagship Euro Corporate Bond fund – Vontobel Euro Corporate Mid Yield Bond fund
  • Support with the formulation of the Euro Investment Grade Corporate Bond strategy and its implementation
  • Investment decisions for issuers under coverage
  • Advise and help to refine proprietary portfolio and risk management tools
  • Performing marketing activities such as client presentations, performance review meetings, roadshows or client pitches
  • Back up for corporate bond team members during their absence
  • Analyse and monitor issuers in assigned sectors encompassing both US and European Area issuers, and across all the rating spectrum, including high yield. We are particularly looking for a Global Telecoms/Technology specialist with European Area Utilities knowledge
  • Contribute to the team's performance targets by making good investment recommendations and by avoiding underperformers

 

Your Qualification

  • Corporate bond portfolio management skills including good performance credentials as an existing deputy portfolio manager
  • Sector and company analysis skills
  • Experience in credit derivatives
  • Experience in financial analysis including relative value analysis.  Ability to formulate cross sector views to assist the portfolio manager in the portfolio construction process
  • Able to recommend long / short strategies at market and securities levels depending on prevailing market environments, specific issuer events and valuations. Able to trade CDS
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Language: English. Italian would be advantageous
  • Masters degree or equivalent education
  • Powerpoint, Bloomberg
  • Able to quickly analyse problems and formulate strong and consistent views
  • Structured and solution-focused approach to work
  • Intelligent, resourceful, self-motivated and a team player
