  • Vontobel wants to achieve further growth in the region
  • Thomas Weber appointed as new branch manager

Thomas Weber has been appointed as the new manager of Vontobel’s branch in Chur, effective June 1, 2020. Senior Relationship Managers Oliver Heini and Patrick Mettier, as well as the assistant Renata Canova, will join Vontobel together with Thomas Weber – significantly strengthening the existing two-strong team in Chur, consisting of Angelika Justiz and Romina Willi. All four wealth management experts spent many years working for UBS in Chur. They are highly experienced in advising wealthy private clients and have extensive knowledge of the Chur/Graubünden region, as well as the Rhine Valley, the Principality of Liechtenstein, and the neighboring regions of Germany and Austria. The strengthening of the team is a clear expression of Vontobel’s commitment to Chur and to the company’s home market of Switzerland.

Chur is one of a total of 13 locations in Switzerland where Vontobel has a presence. Vontobel has been serving its private clients in the region for more than a decade, offering them a range of products and services and giving them access to its expertise as a globally active investment manager.

“We are delighted that Thomas Weber, Oliver Heini, Patrick Mettier and Renata Canova have agreed to join Vontobel. These four recognized wealth management experts have an excellent network of contacts as well as strong ties to the region. Vontobel is a globally active wealth and asset manager that is committed to delivering high standards of quality combined with a strong local focus. Following the significant expansion of the team, we want to achieve growth in the region among both our existing and new clients,” stated Jean-Pierre Stillhart, Head of Vontobel Wealth Management in German-speaking Switzerland.

Vontobel moved into new, larger premises in the ‘Steinbock Center’, which is located in the center of Chur, in February 2020 in view of its plans to grow its business in the region.
