Our history

Vontobel began in 1924 with the founding of brokerage firm F.E. Haeberli & Cie. in Zurich. In 1936, amid one of Switzerland’s most challenging economic periods, Jakob Vontobel seized the moment and acquired the firm, officially registering it as J. Vontobel & Co. His entrepreneurial spirit continues to shape our company a century later.
