Henry F. Detering joins Vontobel as Chief Marketing Officer and new Head of Global Marketing & Analytics
Henry F. Detering, CFA, a global marketing executive with broad digital experience, has joined Vontobel as the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and new Head of Global Marketing & Analytics.
During his long career at Lazard Asset Management, Henry successfully built up central marketing services and effectively became the firm’s global head of marketing in 2014. Henry F. Detering has a proven track record of nurturing a global brand and integrating sales and marketing, while laying the structural and digital foundations for growth.
Henry F. Detering is a member of the Global Executive Board, and he has just made the move from New York to the greater Zurich area this spring. He has spent much time in Europe throughout his life, starting with an interesting year as an exchange student in Belgium when he was a teenager. Henry studied Biophysical Chemistry at Dartmouth College, and holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School. Besides English, Henry is fluent in French, and speaks some Portuguese and German.
"I am very pleased that with Henry we have a proven expert in the team who is convinced that the leading financial service providers of the future will be those who manage to deliver the best tech-enabled customer experience – a conviction we share. Marketing & Analytics has a very strategic role to play for our Lighthouse Ambition: We have excellent customer relationships and we are excellent investment specialists – and we aim to leverage both to deliver to our clients an even better, well-targeted, technology-driven, ‘just in time’ Vontobel client experience. To achieve this, we will need to work together across Vontobel on a truly holistic distribution strategy for our investment solutions. We believe that Henry is the right person to deliver on this ambition and are very much looking forward to driving it with him”, said Zeno Staub, CEO of Vontobel.
“Vontobel’s mission of empowering investors to build better futures speaks to me, and I am excited to join the firm at this exciting time and help deliver on the promise of One Vontobel”, said Henry F. Detering, CMO and new Head of Global Marketing & Analytics.
Henry F. Detering has taken over the leadership of Global Marketing & Analytics from Georg Schubiger, who first led the Marketing & Analytics team together with Axel Schwarzer, and most recently alone, on an interim basis. "On behalf of the Global Executive Board, I would like to thank Georg Schubiger and Axel Schwarzer for their strong engagement during the transition period”, added Zeno Staub.
