Our commitment to culture and education

Greater quality of life though social sustainability

A vibrant cultural life and a range of educational options are an essential part of a free and modern society. Both make a decisive contribution to overall quality of life and increase the attractiveness of locations.

Social sustainability can be achieved only if society addresses current issues. This can also be done in the form of art and education. Based on this belief, Vontobel promotes classical music and modern art, and initiates platforms that facilitate dialog on current social issues.

Vontobel is a theme sponsor of the Lucerne Festival

The Lucerne Festival, held in summer, is one of the world’s most renowned events for classical music. It has been delighting audiences for more than 75 years with its unique line-up of top international orchestras and soloists.

Vontobel in Dialog event series

In this globally connected world, in-depth knowledge is a valuable commodity. The permanent exchange of knowledge across borders creates added value, both for individuals and for society as a whole. We contribute toward this with our event series Vontobel in Dialog, in which we address topics of current relevance.

Promotion of modern art

In addition to expanding our own collection of art on a regular basis, we also support leading institutions for modern art at selected locations. For example, Vontobel is a sponsor of PIN, the Friends of Pinakothek der Moderne, the modern art museum in Munich.

Professorship of Financial Engineering

As an active asset manager, we believe it is important to promote academic research on finance and investment topics. This commitment led Dr. Hans Vontobel, former honorary chairman of our bank, to establish the Professorship of Financial Engineering at the University of Zurich.
