Perspectives on the Swiss franc and search for diversification

- The Swiss franc has appreciated significantly over a long period and while this is to a large extent a result of lower inflation even after correcting for this, there is significant strengthening. On a macro level, there are few indications that this has been a major burden for the Swiss economy or Swiss equities – a country that is focused on innovation, efficiency and producing high quality and high-end products. - We are seeing that our clients are currently faced with three key worries at the moment: general market uncertainty; a concentration in particular in US equities; and worries about rising US debt.
