Vontobel awarded renowned German brand prize

For the third time, the winners of the German Brand Award were honored during a ceremonial gala evening at the German Historical Museum in Berlin in mid-June. Over 1,250 entries lined up against their competitors this year at the German Brand Award.

In the elite class "Excellence in Branding", which honors outstanding branding across all sectors, Vontobel received the "Winner - Corporate Brand of the Year" award. Moreover, a high-caliber jury, made up of representatives from business and academia, selected Vontobel as the winner in the classes:

  • "Excellence in Brand Strategy Management and Creation" in the category "Brand Design"
  • "Industry Excellence in Branding" in the category "Banking & Financial Services"


Vontobel has sharpened its identity over the past year and introduced a new brand presence. The objective is to create an unmistakable Vontobel client benefit and experience. With the assistance of its global employees, the convictions forming the basis of Vontobel’s activities were ascertained: autonomous action, an unshakeable belief in future possibilities, and the ability to pursue opportunities consistently even in the face of disagreement and to use them successfully for clients.

About German Brand Award

Through the German Brand Award, the German Design Council and the German Brand Institute present awards for successful brands, consistent branding, and sustainable brand communication each year. The German Brand Award was initiated by the German Design Council, which was created by the German parliament in 1953 and sponsored by the Federation of German Industries. For over 60 years, the German Design Council has aimed to promote the national and international competitiveness of German companies. The German Brand Institute, founded to strengthen activities in the field of branding, is tasked with running the competition.
