Vontobel is now one of the top 10 climate-friendly financial services providers according to the CDP

In this year’s ranking published by the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), Vontobel achieved an ‘A’ rating and is thus one of the top 10 financial services providers according to the CDP Climate Score. This represents a significant improvement over previous years and reflects the continued optimizations made by Vontobel in this area.

The CDP provides companies with a scoring system that they can use to measure and disclose their environmental impacts. Based on the data provided in questionnaires submitted by the companies, the CDP produces an annual ‘CDP Climate Score’. This year, Vontobel made it into the top 10 of financial services providers within the DACH region, which comprises Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Vontobel had already achieved an excellent performance in previous years. It assigns considerable importance to climate protection and actively and continuously reduces its environmental impacts. Vontobel’s products and processes are designed to be as climate friendly as possible and to promote climate protection and adaptive measures. In addition, Vontobel has reduced harmful emissions resulting from its banking operations as far as possible and it offsets the remaining greenhouse gas emissions produced each year by purchasing CO2 emissions certificates to support projects that save the same volume of emissions. Vontobel has been carbon neutral since 1 January 2009.

“We are proud to have been recognized as one of the leading companies in terms of environmental performance. This shows that Vontobel assigns a high level of importance to sustainability and, in particular, to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,” stated Natalie Ernst, Corporate Sustainability Manager at Vontobel.
