In 2024, we have continued to work on our six Sustainability Commitments that also provide the guiding structure of our report. We strive to report transparently on our sustainability efforts and achievements, as well as on the road ahead as we work towards our goals. Governance & Transparency
- We want to work within an appropriate governance structure where sustainability/ ESG-related matters are managed across the organization (in line with defined Group-wide sustainability governance) and that ensures appropriate oversight
- We report in accordance with GRI standards for the 14th time and have expanded our TCFD reporting
- One BoD member was nominated to become the “Sustainability Spokesperson”
Investment Solutions
- Vontobel manages CHF 106.6 billion of investment solutions that incorporate ESG criteria.
- Our investment teams subscribe to four common ESG Investment Principles
- In 2024, we have partnerd with the UN PRI Spring initiatve
Advice for Private Clients
- Vontobel offers its private clients discretionary mandate solutions for multi and single asset mandates based on the individual client’s needs and preferences for sustainable investing
- Vontobel Private Clients has developed its own ESG framework, which offers the basis for the classification of investment instruments and client preferences
- Framework includes three ESG classifications: risk-adjusted performance, mitigation of negative effects and positive contribution.
Climate & Environment
- As part of our overall GHG emission accounting, we are now disclosing the financed emissions relating to our fixed income positions in the banking and trading books
- We have defined new emission reduction targets for the next 10 years for selected Swiss locations (Scope 1 and 2)
- We aim to offset all our remaining operational emissions (Scope 1,2,3) using high-quality emission certificates
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- We have formulated DE&I goals until 2030 and achieved progress in them with increasing females in both managerial and senior- management positions compared to previous years
- Launch of our internal “Female Network”
- We are a future-oriented employer and offer our employees attractive benefits
Community Engagement
- We are a member of the Corporate Support Group of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) & a founding member of the Swiss Climate Foundations
- As part of our longstanding partnership with the ICRC, we have launched an internal fundraising initiative around the topic of “Climate adaptation in Niger”
