Bike to work challenge 2022 - 41'548 kilometers of legwork

This year, 90 Vontobel employees in 24 teams covered a total of 41'548 km (2021: 39'274 km) by bicycle (and on foot). More than the distance around the world! Congratulations to all participants on this great achievement and we are looking forward to your participation next year.
Record year for bike to work
The current edition of the Swiss bike to work challenge beats all previous bike campaigns with a 30% increase on last year’s achievements: more participants, more teams, more companies and more kilometres. In May and June as many as 80,556 participants from 2,829 companies covered 22,184,698 kilometres biking to and from work. According to the bike to work press release, e-bikes are clearly on the rise: In 2022, 28% of the participants joined in with an e-bike, compared to 19% in 2019. The e-bike is becoming increasingly attractive for commuters, and replaces inefficient and polluting car journeys.
