Bike to work challenge 2023 – a new Vontobel record!

This year, 136 Vontobel employees in 36 teams covered a total of 59,380 km (2022: 41,548 km) by bicycle (and on foot). On average, that's 437 km per participant - and that's almost the distance from Vontobel's Geneva location, via the Bern and Lucerne locations to the Chur location*! Congratulations to all participants on this great achievement and we are looking forward to your participation next year - so that we can "visit" even more locations soon!
Record year for bike to work
Across Switzerland, the current edition of the bike to work challenge had another record year: with a growth of 21%, 97,616 enthusiastic cyclists from 3249 companies took part in the challenge.
According to a press release by ProVelo Switzerland, the participants covered a total of 28,375,802 kilometers by bicycle on their way to work. This enormous distance corresponds to a journey 708 times around the earth.
*444 km by bike, according to Google Maps.
